Product Story

Make

Description

The A.36 is made entirely in-house at the A.BCH studio. We cut the fabric with minimal waste, each piece is then constructed by one of our in-house tailors. It's then trimmed, pressed and quality checked by hand before being sent to you. All raw edges have been stabilised at the seams and the hem features our signature double back tack in tonal stitching.

Fabric

Description

100% certified organic cotton 295gsm, 1x1 rib. The fibre is grown, processed and spun in India. Fair Trade and ACO certified, plus Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified at every stage from processing to finishing, to meet strict environmental, toxicity and social standards. The yarns are knitted at our partner mill (one of the last remaining in Australia) located just outside of Melbourne. From here, the fabric is sent to a local dye-house where it is scoured and custom dyed to our spec using GOTS approved dyes.

Packaging

Compost

Our default packaging for local orders, home-compostable satchels have the lowest environmental impact when composted locally. Please don't throw this into your general waste bin, instead, after re-use, compost at home or find other solutions here. You can contact us immediately after placing your order to request recyclable packing instead.

Recycled

For extra fragile goods, or international orders, we use 100% post-consumer waste recycled and RECYCLABLE satchels, boxes and tissue paper. After re-use, these can go into your curb-side paper recycling bin.

Care

Laundering

Organic fibres need just a little more TLC than conventional ones. Machine wash on COLD, use a delicates bag for best results and hang to dry. We'll also send a detailed digital care guide when you buy this garment.

Repairs

We stand by our garments + offer complimentary repairs for all A.BCH pieces. Our free repairs are for general wear and tear, all we ask is that you cover the cost of delivery or drop off to our Melbourne studio. Re-making or alterations can also be requested + will be individually quoted based on the time required.

End of Life

Recycling

To recycle this garment, send it back to us for store credit. We'll even cover shipping! Depending on its condition, we'll repair & re-sell it (as second hand) OR transform it into brand new yarns through our recycling program (so circular, darling).

Compost

If returning is unlikely (you're busy with a climate rally or living off the grid), this skivvy is 100% compostable. After a long life of use, repair and re-use, simply cut into smaller pieces - it's now safe for anaerobic composting at home or commercially.
