Product Story

Make

Description

The A.31 skirt is made to order, entirely in-house by the A.BCH team at our HQ in Victoria. Our in-house cutters and tailors plot the pattern with minimal offcuts, then cut, construct, press and trim. The piece is accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia. This garment is eligible for customisation, so if you need a different length or waist measurement, please get in touch. We can also make the A.31 skirt in white organic linen, olive green or in our sheer organic cotton voile.

Elastic

Description

Non-synthetic elastic? Yeah, it's a thing. Made from natural rubber for stretch and un-dyed GOTS organic cotton in Germany, this elastic is strong and holds great shape over lots of wear and washes. Plus, it's totally compostable at the end of its life.

Packaging

Compost

Our default packaging for local orders, home-compostable satchels have the lowest environmental impact when composted locally. Please don't throw this into your general waste bin, instead, after re-use, compost at home or find other solutions here. You can contact us immediately after placing your order to request recyclable packing instead.

Recycled

For extra fragile goods, or international orders, we use 100% post-consumer waste recycled and RECYCLABLE satchels, boxes and tissue paper. After re-use, these can go into your curb-side paper recycling bin.

Care

Laundering

Organic fibres need just a little more TLC than conventional ones. Machine wash on COLD, use a delicates bag for best results and hang to dry. We'll also send a detailed digital care guide when you buy this garment.

Repairs

We stand by our garments + offer complimentary repairs for all A.BCH pieces. Our free repairs are for general wear and tear, all we ask is that you cover the cost of delivery or drop off to our Melbourne studio. Re-making or alterations can also be requested + will be individually quoted based on the time required.

End of Life

Recycling

To recycle this garment, send it back to us for store credit. We'll even cover shipping! Depending on its condition, we'll repair & re-sell it (as second hand) OR transform it into brand new yarns through our recycling program (so circular, darling).

Compost

If returning is unlikely (you're busy with a climate rally or living off the grid), this skirt is 100% compostable (yes, even the elastic). After a long life of use, repair and re-use, simply cut it up, it is then safe for anaerobic composting at home or commercially.
