Description
The Cutpiece Seersucker Dress is created from the selvedges and offcuts of our popular A.42 & A.43 styles. Featuring two pieces: a one shoulder style under dress with side splits and an apron that can be worn and styled multiple ways. Two panels of hemp can be found at random within the design.
We keep every offcut which we sort by size and colour. These are re-cut and placed by hand and stitched to form new textiles from resources that would usually be thrown away. The A.CFH is made in-house at the A.BCH circular factory.
We call this textile production method 'Cutpiece' – a regenerated textile that is entirely unique to the individual garment and owner. Commissions for this style are welcome, as are customisation requests.

A.BCH A.42
Product Story
Make
Description
The A.42 is made to order in-house at the A.BCH circular factory. Our entire factory and HQ operate on 100% renewable wind power and we carbon offset our energy use. The fabric is first laid and cut with minimal waste, pieces are then sewn by our team of skilled machinists. Each garment is trimmed and pressed before being sent to you. Our operations are accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia.

Fabric
Description
100% GOTS Organic Cotton. The fibre is grown and spun in Turkey where it’s left undyed. The entire process is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) to meet strict environmental, toxicity and social standards. The yarns are delivered to Nishiwaki, a city in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan where they are woven in world-class facilities. We purchase the final product through an Osaka based agency that sources from various Japanese fabric wholesalers.

Packaging
Compost
Our default packaging for local orders, home-compostable satchels have the lowest environmental impact when composted locally. Please don't throw this into your general waste bin, instead, after re-use, compost at home or find other solutions here. You can contact us immediately after placing your order to request recyclable packing instead.
Recycled
For extra fragile goods, or international orders, we use 100% post-consumer waste recycled and RECYCLABLE satchels, boxes and tissue paper. After re-use, these can go into your curb-side paper recycling bin.
Care
Laundering
Organic fibres need just a little more TLC than conventional ones. Machine wash on COLD, use a delicates bag for best results and hang to dry. We'll also send a detailed digital care guide when you buy this garment.
Repairs
We stand by our garments + offer complimentary repairs for all A.BCH pieces. Our free repairs are for general wear and tear, all we ask is that you cover the cost of delivery or drop off to our Melbourne studio. Re-making or alterations can also be requested + will be individually quoted based on the time required.
End of Life
Recirculate
Help extend the life of the A.CSD by sending or dropping it back to us for store credit – we'll even cover the shipping. Depending on its condition, we'll repair & re-sell it (as second hand), remake it into something or if it's no longer useful, we'll transform it into brand new yarns through our Recycling Program (so circular, darling).
Recycle
The A.CSD was specifically designed for mechanical or cellulose chemical recycling. Send or drop it back to us for store credit, we'll even cover the shipping. Once received and assessed, the garment is washed and prepared for mechanical recycling. The yarns we create from this process will become feedstock for future A.BCH styles.
Compost
If returning is unlikely (you're busy with a climate rally or living off the grid), the A.CSD is compostable. After a long life of use, repair and re-use, simply cut the garment into smaller pieces and add to your home composting system or garden soil.
