Fabulous
Just love the jacket (A.38)
A great fit and a wonderful inky colour.
I have had many compliments in my first two outings with it on.
Thanks!
Alex

A.BCH DENIM combines tailored cuts with the structure of raw denim.
A staple crop-style denim jacket made from premium Japanese organic denim. The Raw Denim Panel Jacket is un-washed and untreated to honour the traditions of authentic denim while minimising industrial water usage, energy intensive distressing and increasing longevity. A structured fit, cut to relax with wear, it features clean panelling, side hidden pockets, oversized collar and premium corozo nut buttons. Wash with like-colours before wear to avoid dye transfer.
Note: Raw denim has a significant structured feel when new; over time, wear and washing, the denim will soften drastically and the colour will fade to a rich dark blue colour.

The A.38 is made in-house at the A.BCH circular factory. Our entire production and HQ operations rely on 100% renewable wind power and we carbon offset our energy use. The fabric is first laid and cut with minimal waste, pieces are then constructed by our team of skilled machinists. Each garment is trimmed for excess threads and pressed before being sent to you. Our operations are accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia.

100% organically grown raw cotton denim (11.5oz) certified by European Union Organic Agriculture certifying body, Ecocert. The fibre is grown and spun in Egypt. The yarns were purchased in 2007 by our denim mill based in Okayama, Ibara, the heart of Japanese denim manufacturing. Due to slow adoption of organic yarns in local denim markets, this premium organic cotton has sat unused for several years. Upon purchase, the warp yarns are dyed and woven with undyed weft yarns on shuttle looms. We buy the finished raw denim from a Japanese textile wholesaler based in Osaka, which sources directly from the mills.

Our default packaging for local orders, home-compostable satchels have the lowest environmental impact when composted locally. Please don't throw this into your general waste bin, instead, after re-use, compost at home or find other solutions here. You can contact us immediately after placing your order to request recyclable packing instead.
For extra fragile goods, or international orders, we use 100% post-consumer waste recycled and RECYCLABLE satchels, boxes and tissue paper. After re-use, these can go into your curb-side paper recycling bin.
Organic fibres need just a little more TLC than conventional ones. Machine wash on COLD with like-colours and hang to dry. Avoid the washing machine by airing your coat out between wears. We'll also send a detailed digital care guide when you buy this garment.
We stand by our garments + offer complimentary repairs for all A.BCH pieces. Our free repairs are for general wear and tear, all we ask is that you cover the cost of delivery or drop off to our Melbourne studio. Re-making or alterations can also be requested + will be individually quoted based on the time required.
Help extend the life of the A.38 by sending or dropping it back to us for store credit – we'll even cover the shipping. Depending on its condition, we'll repair & re-sell it (as second hand), remake it into something or if it's no longer useful, we'll transform it into brand new yarns through our Recycling Program (so circular, darling).
The A.38 was specifically designed for easy mechanical or cellulose chemical recycling and this is our preferred afterlife pathway. Send or drop it back to us for store credit, we'll even cover the shipping. Once received and assessed, the garment is washed and prepared for mechanical recycling. The yarns we create from this process will become feedstock for future A.BCH styles.
If returning is unlikely (you're busy with a climate rally or living off the grid), the A.38 is also biodegradable as a last resort. After a long life of use, repair and re-use, you can remove the buttons if they're still useful (if broken or cracked they can biodegrade too!) and cut the garment into smaller pieces and bury in your garden soil. The A.38 should decompose in 8-12 weeks, depending on conditions.
