Product Story
Make
Description
The Cube Shirt was made entirely in-house at the A.BCH studio. We designed the garment from organic denim offcuts, cutting the fabric with precision. The shirt was then constructed in-house by our tailors before being trimmed and pressed. This garment is one of a kind.

Fabric
Description
100% certified organic raw cotton denim. The fibre is grown, spun and yarn dyed in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in India, where it’s certified by the Global Organic textile Standard (GOTS) to meet strict environmental, toxicity and social standards. The yarns are then delivered to GOTS certified mills in Gujarat. We buy the finished fabric from an Indian textile wholesaler based in Ahmedabad, which sources directly from the mills.

Closures
Description
The Cube Shirt utilises heavy duty snaps for closures. These snaps are sourced from a local studder who has a bunch of surplus metal closures on site. Although we do not know the original source of the studs, and therefore its material is unverified, we are keeping the studs from entering landfill by choosing to use them instead of buying our own new branded hardware. We will take full responsibility for the garment at the end of its life and encourage its return to us many years down the line so we can salvage the metal for recycling.

Description
100% GOTS certified cotton, sourced from co-operative organic markets in the Middle East. Each of these small-holder farmers process their cotton to strict environmental and social standards- as is required by GOTS certification.

Label
Description
100% recycled polyester made in-house by a manufacturer with a passion for developing sustainable alternatives for brands. This is the only part of the garment that isn’t biodegradable. Our goal is to someday soon make our own biodegradable woven labels, but until that glorious day, please remove this tag before composting!

Care Label
Description
100% cotton. Although it’s a lot better for the environment than the industry standard virgin polyester, it’s not organic, so it’s just a temporary solution for us. We’re working towards having our own organic cotton care labels too.

End of Life
Recycling
To recycle this shirt, send it back to us for store credit. We'll even cover shipping! Depending on its condition, we'll repair & re-sell it (as second hand) OR transform it into brand new yarns through our recycling program (so circular, darling).
Compost
If returning is unlikely (you're busy with a climate rally or living off the grid), this shirt is 99.5% compostable. After a long life of use, repair and re-use, simply remove the A.BCH tag and cut the rest into strips, safe for anaerobic composting at home or commercially.
