The Shirt Dress is a crafted from a speciality Japanese fabric that has a slight transparency and sheen. The fabric is ultra breathable and drapes beautifully. Layer it over another dress, some palazzo pants or wear as is. A stunning, classic garment in the palest shade of pink.

Description

The Shirt Dress is made to order entirely in-house at the A.BCH studio. While we have a standard range of sizes, we are also able to customise the piece at your request. We've designed the Shirt dress from a stunning limited edition material, only cutting the fabric to order. The dress is constructed in-house by our tailors before being trimmed and pressed.

Fabric

Description

Our blend of 53% GOTS Organic Cotton + 47% Lenzing Tencel make this cellulose fabric soft and breezy with a gorgeous drape and slight transparency. The Tencel fibres are sourced directly from Lenzing in Austria, while the organic cotton fibre is grown, spun and yarn dyed in Turkey where it’s certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) to meet strict environmental, toxicity and social standards. Both the yarns are delivered to Osaka, Japan where they are knitted in world-class facilities. We purchase the final product through an Osaka based agency that source from a Japanese fabric wholesaler.

Label

Description

100% recycled PET made in-house by a manufacturer with a passion for developing sustainable alternatives for brands. This is the only part of the garment that isn’t biodegradable. There's good news! In 2019 we developed a way to make these labels in organic cotton which feature in garments from A.31 onwards. Our Red Line pieces utilise earlier numbers so please remove before composting.

End of Life

Recycling

To recycle this dress, send it back to us for store credit. We'll even cover shipping! Depending on its condition, we'll repair & re-sell it (as second hand) OR transform it into brand new yarns through our recycling program (so circular, darling).

Compost

If returning is unlikely (you're busy with a climate rally or living off the grid), this dress is 99.5% compostable. After a long life of use, repair and re-use, simply remove the A.BCH tag and cut the rest into strips, safe for anaerobic composting at home or commercially.
