Product Story

Make

Description

The A.11 was made entirely in-house by the A.BCH team at our HQ in Fitzroy North. We cut the fabric with zero waste, constructed the piece, pressed it and trimmed it for excess threads. The remnant warp yarns from the frayed hem were salvaged for embroidery and paper-making.

Fabric

Description

100% hemp, grown and spun in China. Spun yarns are sent to Belgium, where they’re woven in a C02 neutral mill and then dyed. Our Belgian supplier has been creating linen since 1864 and are recognised by The Masters of Linen, they also frequently work with hemp. Hemp is notoriously difficult to trace back to origin, and although the transparency for our hemp is not up to speed, we are working to improve it as we grow. We think this fibre is super important for the future and are dedicated to supporting its cultivation, with the aim of achieving full transparency for this fibre in the year ahead.

Care Label

Description

100% biodegradable cotton. Although it’s a lot better for the environment than the industry standard virgin polyester, it’s not organic, so it’s just a temporary solution for us. We’re working towards having our own organic cotton care labels too.
