Work Shop was a collaboration with The Council of Textile & Fashion in a pop-up space within the Emporium Melbourne.
Rationale:
Behind every garment lies an incredible history and a complex process that few consider before they buy. Although more people are asking where their clothes came from, the complexity is difficult to visualise when the shopper’s experience is so one-dimensional (ahem, just the point of sale).
That's why Emporium hosted its first live studio residency for three rising local designers (including A.BCH) thanks to a collaboration with Australian Fashion Council's emerging designer program, Curated.
Work Shop is a space that’s part show room, part working studio. The three labels selected from the Curated group, A.BCH, Scott Benedictine and MNDATORY will occupied a traditional retail space with a subversive approach in mid 2017. Work Shop allowed passers-by and Melbourne fashion enthusiasts to experience the behind-the-scenes processes of our fashion house, from conception to development to construction and presentation.
The Council of Textile & Fashion launched Curated in March 2017, bringing Australia’s premier emerging labels into one space to meet, connect and provide a shopping experience for those who want to be at the forefront of new discoveries.
