MELBOURNE WORKSHOP 9/2/1
BYO broken wardrobe favourites
Focus: Visible Mending + Block Printing
THE NITTY GRITTY
Guys, our landfill situation is no joke and (now that China stopped buying our recycling) we need to re-think some things, real quick.
Care, Repair, Wear is a workshop (*cough* protest) & solution to the growing pile of textile waste. Here's what you'll learn:
1. How to darn your moth eaten/ ripped/ sad clothing,
2. Patch that growing hole in your jeans crotch (we see it),
3. Hide unsightly stains with block printing (a new one for us!)
Special guest instructor and re-use ROYALTY, Tess Doud, who helped to pioneer the EILEEN FISHER Renew program, will be bringing her skills to the mending table.
A Parsons alumni, designer behind a creative studio + consultancy redefining waste, Tess began her career at EILEEN FISHER designing solutions for re-making damaged garments into new pieces. A method still successfully used by the company today! https://the-threads.com/
Now, choose a garment (or more) that has sat forlorn and un-worn in your wardrobe due to wear & tear, we'll do the rest. Hosted by the A.BCH team, there'll be free flowing bubbles & snacks so bring a friend and make an afternoon of it.
Repeat repairers are welcome as well as newbies.
Can't wait to meet you!
Tickets are essential (the cost is redeemable on A.BCH goods on the day) – get those here.
